| Today I have bought some refurbed BBS RM's which I might buy some new outer lips for to make them a bit wider and give me a bit of poke This week I'll be ordering some coilovers and a Shrick inlet manifold. I need to get myself front and rear strut braces this week ready for spraying. I should also be picking up the engine and gearbox this week too and hopefully the car will be ready for E38. The interior should be going to the trimmers this week or next week depending on when they can fit me in to have a nice retrim in a light tan leather Hope you all like the progress so far. Any comments welcome Ollie |

| Bought some new wheels for it the other day. Some nice BBS RM's off eBay Gonna get some wider lips for them to give them a bit more girth Found some rust that needs treating too so that might slow things down a little bit. |

| Right not done any updates for a while since i've been a bit busy but the car is coming along very nicely now The interior has gone off to the trimmers for the seats and door cards trimmed in dark and light brown leather. I bought a front upper strut brace and polybushes which were fitted and also a new anti roll bar to keep things firm haha. The MK1 fuel filler neck was welded in and smoothed and primered - I managed to get hold of a vr6 manifold for the mk2 with a cat bypass and some lovely exhaust wrap. I also got a full system from Jetex which should make it sound pretty mean. At the same time I bought braided brake hoses and 280mm g60 disks, pads etc... The schrick manifold arrived and so did the coilovers (kw adjustable dampening variant 2s i think they are ) So far the car is ready for spraying in 2 different browns next week. A light brown for the roof and bay and a dark brown for the main body. Hopefully you guys will see some pictures of it next week and decide if you like the paint haha. this is how the car is looking now: Smooth bootlid Just test fitting the wheels to see how much wider I can go with the new lips Let me know what you think guys. Any comments and stuff welcome Ollie |

| It's being painted by a guy in Cambridge. The companys called MV Developments. It's also being built by them so it's not my personal handy work haha. I havent put the new lips on the wheels yet Jon they're still only 7j but I'm going to order the new 2.5inch lips to make them 8.5j which should make them look pretty mean under the arch. If they don't sit how I want them to I'll have to look at getting some spacers. I've spoken to the bodywork guy and the car should be coated by the end of the week and then the engine is getting stripped down to get bits painted either black or light brown and a few bit cleaned up so they match the schrick. Last night I was toying with the idea of sticking in a TT dash or something similar. What are your thoughts on that? Keep it retro or new dash? Cheers guys Ollie |

| Here is a pic of the manifold that I managed to dig out before it gets wrapped and stuff Yeah the bbs look pretty cool. I spent ages on the old ebay looking for some decent ones. Hopefully the grey will go well with the brown but the gold bolts will look awesome!! |

| OK guys quick update. The car has now been sprayed!!! I will upload some pictures later but i need some advice. We have hit a bit of a dilemma on the direction the golf is going to go. Because it's been sprayed brown and with the wheels it looks pretty retro so I'm thinking whether to go small bumpers and make it all out retro with chrome trim or keep the big bumpers and have a mix. It's got the early doors on it with mk1 style mirrors so small bumper might be best.
What do you guys think? |

| Thanks for the feedback guys. I bought all the bits and bobs for the small bumpers today. I still need to get a gti splitter and some gl quarter spats. Got me some chrome door handles too Still need to get some lips for the bbs. The bay and the roof are getting sprayed tomorrow. Here is a picture of the two leathers with the paint: the leathers together on a seat. (not my seat though haha) What do you think? |

| Thanks for the feedback guys! Yeah Jon it looks like that marble chocolate stuff doesn't it? haha so a few updates. I been in America for the past month so not been able to post too much on here. The seats are back from the trimmers and they look like this: I bought myself brand new carpet throughout from Newton Commercial but unfortunately one of the carpets was cut wrong so I had to send it back but heres the carpet in the boot the rear strut brace has been sprayed too and I think it looks pretty cool The front strut brace was painted the same colour as the engine bay and the brake servo painted dark brown which is a nice contrast i think: here's a few more pictures of how it sits now mk1 fuel cap small bumpers look best right? Smoothed boot. I'm not sure about the lights though i think i might need smoked ones? What do you think? Powder coated goodies Subframe etc Now I'm just trying to sort out the speakers and stuff hopefully going with a full hertz setup but I'm leaving the sub and amp untill a later date. I'm also still struggling to get hold a small bumper gti splitter. I need to get some little bits for it this week like interior door hanndles, locks and catches etc. Thanks for looking more updates soon Ollie |

| Not really much of an update but I thought I would let you guys know that I went to see the car yesterday and it's looking pretty good. Still waiting for the carpet to come back after Newton Commercial screwed it up. My speakers etc are coming Tuesday so once I get the and the carpet the interior can start going in and then the wiring for the engine can go in. I've decided to have the Schrick inlet manifold polished so it's nice and shiny what do you think? Next week the powdercoated running gear is going in and also the brakes I think Also had a bit of news that Performance VW want to do a feature on my car when it's finished so I need to make sure I have a Staffs sticker in my window haha Thanks for the feedback guys |

We'll sort you out with a colour coded version of it too Haha that should look pretty cool. I want a sticker making for it too. i got a jar of retro Marmite in my cupboard and it's black and cream. I think it would look good as a sticker and pretty appropriate since there's some difference in opinion over the paint haha Well chuffed with the feature though just hope it actually happens |
