Just seen the advert seems this is the future of diesels! Vw claim the passat 1.6 105bhp can get 1000 miles on a tank anybody reckon this is realistic?? Not round town but motorway and dual carriage way I reckon it could be done

jesus thats impressive 89mpg with fuel prices going up as they are its a worth while investment for 1500 miles on a single tank

just read the article ,that's cracking in this day and age ,like you said with the way fuel prices are going ,can see this being a good seller if it isn't all ready.

yeah vw said the polo bluemotion could get 75mpg which would be cracking its only a 1.4 tdi aswell

I drove one, and one a long journey you would be looking at bits of the interior and thinking of ways to kill yourself, its so slow, 3rd gear required to overtake a lorry on the motorway. Driving in normally I dont think you'd see 40mpg, it has to be driven within an inch of its life to make reasonable progress.
