Me and Phil picked it up last weekend with a couple of issues.

Mk3 GTi 8v with 148k miles.

Mods

Lowered suspension
17" BK alloys
Full Jetex stainless exhaust
Crystal fogs and indicators
Mk 4 golf style headlights

Problems

Water leak from plastic housing on the head
Many electrical problems like no headlights and heater
Car looks black and so do the wheels as dirty as hell
Runs a bit rough

Todays jobs.

Oil and filter changed
Front brake pads replaced
Coolant drained and plastic housing replaced
New coolant put in
Fusebox replaced
Cat 2 removed and wiring repaired
All electrical issues fixed
Dam good clean

Not bad for £450 plus a colour i have not realy seen on a mk3.

Stereo and phone kit next along with a bee sting thats not snapped off lol.

Was close to being crushed due to the cost of fixing all the electrical problems but they were all down to a *Urine* poor installation of the cat2. Took a couple of hours testing everything and then ripping the dam thing out.

Alpine head unit and Parrot bluetooth kit all fitted now.

Looks like it will need a front wheel bearing and a maf but other than that it's not to bad.

What side wheel bearing do you need?

Ive got a N/S hub with a good bearing fitted.

It is a quite rare colour that, any rust problems?

Think it maybe the n/s mart.

As for rust there is one little bubble on the drivers side front wing but thats it.

I cleaned the maf last night mart and it looks like it has done the trick so hopefully i should not need to try your spare.

Need to get the colour code and find what it is.

looks like fjord blue, i had a mk4 polo in a very similar shade of blue

I just bought this car, as per newbie thread, nice to see its been owned by forum member for at least a small part of its life.

when we going to see the T4 project

Well we have finished the guys T5 now so the T4 should be with us in 3-4 weeks once the T5 is all racked out and ready to go.

We already have a set of rover 200 half leather seats on T4 bases and 85mm lowering springs to go on once it arrives.

Are T4 seat bases the same as mk3 golfs as thats what I am trying to sort so pics would great please
