Hi there this is the thread for my mk3 polo projectm which by the looks of things is gonna be a long one!! Just got brought my lil polo the other day by my lovely other half At the moment its completly standard, that is soon 2 change. Im hoping to get a build thread going soon so my progress can be seen. First off im going to get rid of the door strips and roof gutters, then those aweful amber indicators and side repeaters, swap them for clear crystals, that shouldnt be too hard i dont think. Then mayb get a debadged grill and some new wheels. Im thinking painted steels or some ronals but not sure yet. im desperate 2 get it lowered asap but probably wont b this side of xmas. its got a few rust spots on the tailgate so if i can get them sanded n repainted i will, if not a new tailgate it is. Then comes the fun part........ As its white im goin 4 the chequered look so im gonna need some roof vinyl n chequered tape, also gonna swap my interior as the passanger side seat is trashed. This is gonna be soooo much fun

So the work begins, been a busy couple of days, spent yesterday down in the yard with the other half chipsandgravy (hellios project) rippin apart our cars, dispite the freezing cold it was rather productive. The roof gutters are now off and the side strips are a work in progress, all the outer plastic is off, just trying to remove all the residue and adhesive without touching the paintwork, easier said than done. For such an old car me and my other half thought we had grabbed ourselves a bargin when we brought lil polo, but little did we know it had a leaking fuel tank, we just about made it home. So todays agenda was to get a new fuel tank and get it fitted asap and for as cheap as possible. Managed to get one for fairly cheap from GSF and got it fitted this eveing at our local garage. At least now i can drive round knowing im not gonna burst into flames if anyone comes near me with a lit fag.

Thanks for the info simon-polo n t1m, gonna try and get down there asap as i havet been able to find a tailgate anywhere especially a white one. A also after a decent interior as my passanger side is trashed. So been workin on the car some more n its comin along beautifully i have to say. Decided to go to the yard the other nite in the snow and get some more work done, omg wat a crazy idea!!! But hey it paid off, managed to get all the door strips off, tried by hand but numb fingers and prising off plastic ive found dont mix well, so with the help of a heat gun and my lovely boyfriend (i stayed in the garage huggin the heater!) they were history. Had mr postman bring me some lovely pressies the other day, clear indicators and side repeaters and chrome bulbs, they were put on the same night the door strips came off. My lil polo now looks like a totally different car, from the front anyway (pics r to come soon) Debadged grill arrived yesterday, woop woop, but cant face goin out in this weather to fit it, plus i cant find my car under all the snow!! Hope to be able to do more soon.

Thanks for the info fingfers crossed Hey all im bck, after my last post not so long ago the other half had the insane idea of not wanting to wait till the snow had cleared to fit my new grill 'Lets go do it now' he said So off we went, after putting on endless amounts of layers, hats and gloves might i add we set out. After struggling to actually find the car and retreive it from under a mountain of snow we finally reached the yard. 2 minute job he said, which i have to admit it was, easiest thing to do so far id say, but after swerving and almost crashing into another car to get it into position, then getting it stuck in mid calf high snow and having to try and push it out we were there about an hour. The difference is amazing though, the car now looks awesome, especially with my shiny new german pressed plates and we got some great pics!!

Well since ive last been on, ive been pretty busy with the polo, ive now named him 2, called him Von lol, anyways im still not sure how low to go and still dont hav a new interior but things are coming along nicely. A few new touches here and there and its lookin like a different car I had the other half smoke my rear lights for me, which has given my lil polo a much better look, also changed from my original steelies to my bf's 15" Ronal R8's, had brought a gorgeous set of 15" audi fake split speedlines to go on lil polo but ive found they wont fit (well unless i cut away most of the arch that it) so unfortunatly im now selling the speedlines and sticking with ronals which i hav to say look pretty awesome, am goin for 14" ronals insted tho as i dont want any rubbing. Saturday me n the bf braved the cold and went down the yard to do a bit more on the polo,(its been off the road over a week now as the ECU has gone) so we went down to give it a clean up, do a bit more work n fix the ECU in time for Dubfreeze, we spent a good few hrs down there freezin our asses off n workin like mad cleanin the engine bay and tryin to get wats left of the sticky strip from the side strips off, (my god its hard work) but its nearly all gone I got stuck into cleanin the engine bay while my bf sanded, primed and sprayed my back bumper, i have to say i think it looks pretty damn good so far, n dried well considerin it was soooo cold. Anyway here are some pics of how things are lookin so far
