Well had a few hours on the car again today stripped the back coilovers down and rebuilt them. raised the back end up a few inches , loads better height now ,next up is fitting the wing and boot lid , some picks of today's antics lol back end stripped down better hight now oh and there is only 4 bolts in all the wheels WTF !! |

the checks are starting to be removed as we speak /type ,only problem with them is it is lifting the lacquer with them so i might have to get a wrap of some sorts on the roof untill i can get around to spraying it

Hey dude! Looks like you could turn this mk3 around them green wheels looked gash! Just a 30 secind job that'll tidy up the front end; Raise the number plate up into the recess so it sits correctly. Sounds daft but it'll make a little bit of difference, and cost you no pounds and no pence! :D

one more thing while the car was outside the other week the central locking locked me out of the car by itself, luckily i had the rear lights out to open the boot as the car has been de locked. looking through the guides on club gti tonight i found out that the central locking motor/pump is right behind the drivers rear light ,looks like water has gotten into the pump at some stage and blown the motor ,here is a pic of it and one of how it should look Burn marks on the pcb melted the top of the pump this is what a non melted one looks like lol will have to contact my local vw parts man hehe

Well been gathering parts for the rebuild . And have started the repairs to the car , only got 2 more to do and then start the prep for the respray. Just a few pics of what i have done in the last few days . First i am smoothing the badge and wiper hole of the tailgate This one is of it all welded up and ground back red oxide to protect while i do the other bits of welding ,will only need a light skim of filler. next are 2 pics of both rear inner arch repairs just welded in .need to grind back yet . And finally for now i have an early car that has the aerial in the wing ,well i am removing that and welding the hole up ,this pic shows the piece that i have made to fill in the hole, just needs welding in . that's all for now folks, should be another update after the weekend .
