Hi everyone, I signed up on Staffs VW earlier today and thought I would introduce myself...

I own a 1984 1.3C Mk2 Golf and I intend to tidy it up for when I am 17, in January. My parents bought me the car for my 16th Birthday with the idea that if I spend my free time working on it I will have for respect for it when I get on the road and I had been getting on at them quite a bit wanting a Mk2 Golf.

Thats a nice little starter project, the paints come up good after a little rubbing....

what you thinking... keep it clean and simple or will you be going for the scene look....

Hmm, not sure i agree with being on car forums while at school.... hahahaha

Mk2 looks good, fantastic idea of your folks IMO, if i were you i'd keep it simple, either OEM+ and get it back and beyond its former glory, or look after it, gain experience, then do 'foreigners' for mates and family, save your money then get something nicer when your more experienced at driving. No point turning this mk2 into a 'show stopper' when your novice driving COULD put it round a tree!
