VW Golf Mk3 GTI 16v Anniversary
Tax & MOT, FSH, Satin Silver, non sunroof 3dr with aircon, 1 of 150 made
Topic posted on behalf of my brother, this is his description:
For sale is my Mk3 Golf GTI 16v Anniversary 3 door in Satin Silver
A very rare model being 1 of only 150 made to commemorate 20 years of the Golf GTI
The car has tax and MOT until November and a very extensive service history, I have a large box file bursting full of bills and the service book is complete bar 1 stamp (2008). It is a 1996 ‘P’ reg and the mileage is 143k which is not unusual for a car like this. The engine (ABF, 150bhp) runs very smoothly and pulls well in all gears, the car starts 1st time every time and is in excellent overall condition inside and out.
During the time I have owned it the car has had:
- New cambelt and tensioner in February
- Recent major service with all fluids, filters and spark plugs changed
- Recent new water pump
- Power steering pump changed last December
- Exhaust front pipe changed last December
- Front tyres changed in January (Hankook Ventus V12 Evo fitted, which are excellent in my opinion)
- Goodridge steel brake hoses fitted
- Both fan belts and battery changed
- New air box assembly fitted, to replace K&N cone filter
All of the work on the car was carried out either by my local VW specialist or by a SEAT main dealer.
The Anniversary spec includes:
- 16’’ BBS RX2 split rim alloys
- Smoked fog lights/indicators
- Deep front splitter
- Red pinstripe on the bumpers
- Red badges
- Chequered sports seats
- Red seatbelts
- Metal golf ball gear knob
- Silver dials
- Red detailing in the interior
In addition to this the car has:
- Air conditioning (which I believe is a rare option)
- Electric windows and mirrors
- No sunroof (which I believe is rare)
- Remote central locking
- Alarm & immobiliser
- Alpine MP3 head unit with JBL amp
- Trip computer
- Rear headrests
- ABS
- Driver and passenger airbags
The bad points are:
- I believe the exhaust is blowing slightly
- Leather steering wheel is worn on top
- A few very minor rust spots on the body but barely noticeable (as with most Mk3s)
I am selling the car as I will be moving to Germany to study a masters degree in automotive design, I have really enjoyed owning it and will be genuinely sad to see it go. I am looking for £1800 or near offer.
