| An old firends company is currently installing a state of the art system and moving into their new shop and I've put it to them about regular RR sessions for the club. This is what he says about the Dyno... - Quote :
- The Dyno is made by a company called Rotronics, who specialise in Dynos for anything from a go-cart engine to a large agricultural tractor. Dynos - are their business!
The Dyno itself:
- 1. A linked 4 wheel drive system - so all the wheels will be spinning at the same time, therefore no faults in the ECU.
2. 500 kW (670bhp) handling capacity for 2 minutes - Braked equally on both axles, nearly 3 times the power of most MINIs. Higher horsepower can be tested for shorter periods of time. 3. 4 x 600mm rollers - most accurate representation of the tyre contact with the road. 4. Low clearance "drive-on" rollers - allows for testing of even the lowest cars without grounding the bodywork. 5. Adjustable track length - cars from 1.6 to 2.8m track length can be tested. 6. 5 Channel Bluetooth OBD port - allows for data extraction from the ECU for precise logging of data 7. High Speed wide band lambda logger - will put precise traces of Air/Fuel ratio on the power graph
The Dyno room:
- 1. 25 000 m3/H - Global "room" ventilation system, changes air 3.5 times every minute in the room.
2. 48 000 m3/H - 50 mph - Main cooling fan for car, the largest available from the manufacturer. 3. 5000 m3/H - Twin sided exhaust gas extraction system, enough to extract gasses from a V8 at 6000rpm
Here's what it looks like right now... as soon as its all installed I'll have a price |

| Cheers lads, yes its my mums landcruiser Ive only drove the M5 once and it scared the sh*t out of me (only just passed my test at the time). A four wheel drive RR is ace, just hope you can stand next to it like at CC tuning.... One place I saw you had to stand it the next room lol |
