| Hello, I thought it was about time I started a thread on here for the Caddy. I'll try and do this in chronological order... so here's when I picked it up from Jon. There were lots of spare/new parts that came with it that I've still not sorted though properly yet. As you can see in the back, it also came with a spare 1.6D engine and 5 spped 'box So I got it home and then decided to swap the wheels Then I Cleaned up the bumpers and painted the lettering on the tailgate More to come once I've had my dinner Gary. |

| Ok. I'm re-fuelled... There were a couple of bits that needs doing like brake lights and reverse lights, a small leak from the engine... then I swapped the front chin spoiler for a deep MK1 GTi version and headed down to the E38 show I got sick of not having any door cards or stereo so that came next And I found a neat little spot for the tweeters Not much happened for a while but I solld the spare engine to another local caddy owner and I've since picked up a Turbo Diesel engine and 5 speed g/box. That won't be going in for a while though. Last week I had a problem with the rear fog light which resulted in two knackered ignition switches and almost an elecrical fire Here's the cooked wire that few the rear fog So I'm waiting for another ignition switch to be delivered. In the meantime I've got no Headlights, wipers or heater blowers so I can't go too far in it |

| I love this car, I don't mind telling ya!
My father and I would love one to do up as a project but I don't even know where to get one from! Perfect for the musician who needs to take his rig to places ;D |

| Thanks Rosh, There are a few Caddy's out there but as they were used as builders/farm vehicles etc.. finding a good standard one is difficult. Even knackered, rusty ones aren't cheap though |

| Thanks Wrighty. I've been toying with the idea for a while
I fitted a new ignition switch on Monday night. Checked everything and all seemed good. Switched the ignition and headlights on and plumes of smoke came from under the dash. It looks as if two of the wires for either the indicators or horn have melted them selves. I've not yet figured out what's happened or what the wires are for. To be honest, I'm not great with electrics and I'm starting to get sick of it. |

| Thanks for the comments guys. Well Saturday afternoon I had a look at what damage had been done. The last cable that burnt out has taken a couple of others with it. I decided to replace the whole interior wiring loom (luckily I had a spare) as it was easier than going through everything and unpicking it to replace the damaged wiring. It was a bit daunting but, with a bit of help from Abbie, we took our time and managed to get it all done and started it up just before it got dark. Everything seems to be working fine |

| Chris, That might have been me. Abbie lives over that way so I can occasionally be seen around Cannock. There is another white MK1 Caddy around though. I've seen it once in Stafford and friends keep spotting it all over the place. It could have been him |

| Yes. Apparently it does have a black tailgate now. I think this is why people keeping thinking it's me! When I saw him it had no tailgate and the bed was done out in checker plate. According to a colleague he's now got a cover on the back, too |
