Quote :
The new New Beetle is due to appear in spring 2011 and will, like its predecessor, be built in Puebla, Mexico. It will adopt suspension components from the last-generation Golf. U.S. buyers will choose from three familiar engines: a 2.5-liter five-cylinder (170 hp), a 2.0-liter turbo unit (200 hp), and a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel (140 hp). Transmission choices will include manuals and dual-clutch automatics with up to seven speeds.

The new version grows by 3.5 inches in length and sports a flatter roofline, a more upright windshield, a wider track, and a reduced front overhang. The extended rear end accommodates a larger cargo area, and the roomier passenger compartment offers more headroom.

It looks truer to the old designs and I think it looks right nice that! Wouldn't mind one on my drive!

not sure I like the squashed roof!

the classic was round the new and improved version was round and now it looks like something has sat on the roof!

I'm with you Matt, nasty looking thing.

The Beetle to me was always a novelty car anyway, just like the Mini. Can't see why they'd bother trying to 'update' it

its a nice car, but its not beetle.. the new beetle is beetle lookin.. but this is gettin too much like ppl have said, TT or like other cars VW are currently makin, low roof like the scirocco etc. too sporty lookin for a remake of a classic...

still a nice car tho. wouldnt mind seein a few modded ones in future.

the back looks pretty much the same, just looks smaller in height and longer at front. mabe its packin a V8
