Anyone shed any light on this.

When i nipped out to pick my bro up from college, the engine coughed and spluttered abit, bus was still on choke as my dad described it. Went once the engine came off choke.

Is this anyhting be concerned about?

mine does this, i know there is a sensor that controls fuelling but dont know how to test it

does it happen all the time the bettle does this when its cold then after a few minutes its fine again my polo ticked over a little high wehen cold when it warmed up it ran smooth as anything

Clean your MAF should sort this as it's when the air pump is runnig. Octy did the same until i cleaned the MAF.

Coolant temp sensor will be faulty, you have probably got the black one fitted, go to VW and order the green one.
If you can get it scanned for DTC's you might see the code in either engine or instrument. If not check the data from cold.

The coolant sensor gives a signal to the ECU to tell it how hot or cold the engine is and in turn will give it more fuel on start up.

Some times they will cause the car not to start if this happens just disconnect and it will start.

Any problems or you would like me to run a test let me know.
