hey all my dad owns a mk1 golf cabro 1.8 carbed and its currently running on a peirberg 2E and he is having problems with his choke i have replaced the choke from an old 2E and the choke valve keeps closing when cold and causing problems to start the car. so cutting to the chase i have been told that the webber conversion is the best way to go. which carb would you guys go for ?

weber 32/34 DMTL, manual choke! the dogs imo, makes for quite a good power increase aswell! a lot smoother running aswell.

no worrie man, choke cable is a straight fit, theres a blank in the dash below the steering column that you have to remove and you can fit the choke cable there. 40's are good but imo they fall out of tune, manifolds are expensive and sup more juice, depends what you want though. i think drivers go really well with a gti cam and exhaust system, and a nice clean weber. or go bike carbs and make a manifold like me! well i believe there waxstat on a peirburg they are generally **** , i think ive heard of someone converting them to manual choke before but not on here, have a good scout around on the net, but i really do reccomend getting a weber mate, they are honestly a million times better-performance and economy wise! yeah pm me if you wnnt n ill give you me number.
