| Well picked up the ex Autokraft MK3 off scooby1 this morning. Been to the bodyshop to get it booked in for a little bit of paint. Spent most of the day cleaning and cleaning. First mod was to de-lock the passenger door and fit a rear door handle. Also got a set of mint rear lights off Madmanmart. Bodywork has come up of for a first pass but needs a bit more TLC. Quick pic before Mart turned up. Spent ages putting back to black on the trims as they have not had any for a long time. More cleaning to come. |

| Cleaning day 2. Removed back lights to check for any rust. All ok. Pic shows where panel has been pushed in and soon to be sorted in the bodyshop. Bottom of wing rust. Should be sorted when in bodyshop. Removed the crappy crystal bumper lights and cleaned the bumper. Will be getting corner smart repaired where it has been caught. Indicator on the right i have polished up and looks a lot better. Bumper lights all cleaned up and fitted. Replaced crappy gearknob and gaitor with a standard item. Also replaced handbrake lever as the button was sticking. Cleaned and polished the under side of the bonnet. Bonnet reflection shot. Looked into fueling issues. Found the intake air temp sensor was in the wheel arch not in the airbox so sorted that. Also found both the rubber blanks on the vacuum one way valve to be perished and the ends missing. Made new blanks and will see how it goes. Replaced the passenger side window seal as it was bubbled quite badly. Big thanks to Mart for sorting me the bits. Parts it needs. Sump gasket. Got new sump and gasket. Rocker cover gasket. Front top mounts. Set of lowering springs. Rubber seal on bee sting. Wheel bearing. Trip to bodyshop. |

| Spent a bit of time on the engine bay cleaning things up. Not to bad for a first pass but needs a bit more on the engine and box. Front and rear strut top mounts ordered along with a set of 60/50mm lowering springs. Will clean engine better once i have changed the rocker cover and sump gaskets. |

Sorted out the stalling when coming back to tickover. Cleaned all the **** out of the throttle body with a bit of carb cleaner and much better now.
Got my full set of top mounts now just waiting for my springs.
Touched up most of the stone chips and polished out some scratch's.
Almost got all the bits i need to sort it out now. |

| Did a little bit on it after the meet today. Pic of Alpine head unit. Got a ipod lead of ebay for it for £6 in p&p lol. Removed the crappy mk4 style headlights and grille to clean the front panel. Replaced the indicator stalk as the old one would not go to speeds 1 or 2. Grille was taken apart and new rear section off Mart fitted. |

| Indeed they were but one of the bulbs must of got hot and melted the cover. Got a standard set of GTI headlights coming.
Got all the lights working now after quite a lot of blown bulbs lol. Found an Alpine ipod lead in my stock along with a USB lead so all fitted and working.
Hopefully get more bits delivered this week so i can get all my work done before it goes to the bodyshop. |

| Almost got all the jobs done now. Spax springs removed in bits. Fitted new sump and gasket along with Pro Sport 60/50mm lowering springs and a new set of top mounts. VR6 splitter put on. Just need to take it for a spin to settle the new springs. Hopefully my headlights and bee sting will turn up this week then i can take it to the bodyshop. |
