PostSubject: Help pls Help pls EmptyThu Jan 13, 2011 10:48 pm

My 1.9 tdi is playing up. The temp gauge randomly went from 90 to nothing. My heaters don't get hot, n my expansion tank is frothy. I've asked around n been told my head gasget or (the one I prefer) my oil cooler seal is leaking oil into my water. Anybody else have an opinion. Would help alot, thanks ppl

Sounds like head gasket to me. All the signs are there. Get it checked out asap or big bills will be on the cards.

If you get white smoke coming out of the exhaust then it is most likely the head gasket ,if not it could be the oil cooler failing ,best to get some one look at it mate .

Mocal oil coolers are good...

http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/OIL-COOLERS-Mocal-Oil-Cooler/c2267_2327/index.html

you'd need to know the size though...

You really need someone to look at it though as its pointless buying anything unless you know whats wrong...
